The Cooperative Memorial Society acknowledges that what we commonly refer to as Alberta is the traditional ancestral territory of diverse Indigenous populations, including Treaty 6, 7, and 8 lands. We deeply respect the Blackfoot Confederacy, Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, Tsuu T’ina Nation, and the Métis People of Alberta, along with the Métis Settlements and Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta.
We express gratitude to the Indigenous peoples who have nurtured and protected these lands for generations, both in the past and present. Our acknowledgment is a gesture of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose ancestral lands we inhabit or visit. |
