The Calgary Co-operative Memorial Society (CCMS) was formed in 1966 as a member-owned co-operative of like-minded people who respect the need for a simple, dignified alternative to the elaborate and increasingly costly funeral services promoted by the conventional funeral industry.
We are a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, operated by a 12-member volunteer Board of Directors. Members receive materials that help them to plan their wishes and record needed information.
Members also have access to substantially-discounted prices for funeral services. Perhaps the greatest benefit of joining CCMS is the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have planned for this part of life’s journey and have relieved your family or executor of the need to make difficult and potentially expensive decisions at a very stressful time.
Our by-laws were approved by the membership and the society was incorporated under the Alberta Co-operative Associations Act in 2004. For more information, read our history.
